Competing Redshanks : wading birds greetings card
Common Redshanks photographed at the Gannel Estuary on a sunny October afternoon. I watched these two running around on the banks of the River Gannel, making a lot of 'peep' noises and generally chasing each other. Eventually, it erupted into this, which I presume was fighting as they appeared to be grabbling each other with their bills. After this short scrap, they ran off and continued to chase each other around the shore
